Daily Journal Patent Disputes Forum

14 Apr 2016

Rosewood Sand Hill
Menlo Park, CA

We are now engaged in a nation-wide dialogue on what more the Judiciary, parties and law firms can be doing to give more stand-up opportunities to junior lawyers. This work builds on the work of a few individual judges who have, for years, incorporated language in their case specific or standing orders to encourage, or provide incentives for, participation by junior lawyers. In this panel, we will continue the discussion (including discussion that has taken place at Federal Circuit Bar Association events) and will discuss what advances have been made and what more we can all do. This panel discussion flows into a second traditional all judge panel that immediately follows during the lunch hour.

Moderator:

  • Kathi Vidal (Lutton), Principal, Fish & Richardson P.C.

Panelists:

  • Hon. K. Nicole Mitchell, Magistrate Judge, Eastern District of Texas
  • Stacy Quan, Assistant General Counsel, Microsoft Corporation
  • Stefani Shanberg, Partner
  • Andrew Trask, Patent Litigation Counsel, Google Inc.
