British Institute of International and Comparative Law Event
The Insolvency Regulation is the substantial instrument for the coordination of cross-border insolvencies. It has recently been recast as Regulation No 2015/848 and will apply from 26 June 2017. But the Regulation will cease to apply in the UK once Brexit becomes effective.
Howard Morris will be speaking at this event where a panel of experts will discuss the implications of Brexit on insolvency and restructuring, and reflect on how to best preserve the UK's status as an attractive jurisdiction for businesses.
Topics will include: Forum and law shopping post Brexit; Cross-frontier recognition; Enforcement and judicial assistance for foreign insolvency proceedings; The recognisability of the scheme of arrangement in the post-Brexit era; and: Brexit or not - Europe is going all Chapter 11, What does this mean for European restructuring?
