Climate Week NYC 2020
MoFo is a proud sponsor of Climate Week NYC 2020, taking place September 21 to 27, in association with the United Nations and the City of New York. Businesses, governments, academic institutions, arts organizations, individuals, and nonprofit organizations gather to participate in the week-long events program including panel discussions concerts, exhibitions, seminars, and more. This year, Climate Week shifts its focus to how we can rebuild after COVID-19, and the lessons we can learn in pursuit of a net-zero future through just transition.
Corporate partner Suz Mac Cormac will participate in the panel series titled “Chance of a Lifetime? How Governments and Business Are Achieving a Green Economic Recovery" on September 22, 2020. Her panel, "Green strings attached: supporting a low-carbon economic recovery," will focus specifically on a high-level discussion of state support for recovery from COVID-19 and will explore how this can be used to accelerate the shift towards a more sustainable economy. As we currently experience the greatest human and economic tragedy of a generation, this is also an unparalleled opportunity to rebuild better for the Climate Decade, with the goal of halving emissions in the next 10 years. This panel discussion will feature both political and business leaders to discuss what needs to be done over the next two years to accelerate climate action, and create green jobs and a healthier society.
