The following Breakfast Briefing is designed for employers operating internationally, but all are welcome.
Sarbanes Oxley: What Every HR Professional Needs to Know
Sarbanes Oxley -- the new US legislation designed to curb "Enron" abuses -- radically changes US corporate governance. It has important implications for senior employees and directors of US-listed companies in whatever part of the world they are based. It indicates changes that may be introduced in the UK. What if the CEO or CFO are insisting on back-up certificates from subordinates? What is the position of local directors? What is the impact on benefits in kind? We summarise the legislation and its implications for employees and directors based outside the US.
This seminar will be presented by members of our multidisciplinary team:
Previous Topics in the Series: Data Protection and Privacy in HR: Emerging Problem Areas - November 7, 2002
The pace of change in this area continues to accelerate. The law is complex. The Information Commissioner has recently published codes on "Recruitment and Selection" and "Record Management", plus a new draft on "Monitoring at Work". Employers are facing increasing practical challenges. We summarise some of the problems arising and discuss solutions.
