San Diego Presentation
Social media and portable personal technology permeate modern life, including workplaces across the world. These advances in technology heighten threats to employers’ trade secrets and other confidential and proprietary information. Coping with these realities is not made any easier by laws that do not seem to keep pace with the latest innovations and the ways employees use them. This panel will bring you up to speed on the up-to-the-minute developments in this continually evolving area of employment law, including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies, recent restrictive covenant case law, who owns work-related Twitter accounts when employees depart, and the most recent legal guidance on social media in the workplace.
In addition, there are emerging ethical traps that can ensnare employers and their attorneys when dealing with these technology-related issues, as well as with other general employment disputes. This panel will provide guidance for employers and their attorneys attempting to avoid these ethical pitfalls.
