Rick Grove of Rutter Associates will present on lessons learned, including avoidable mistakes, from his many years of derivatives experience.

Prior to joining Rutter Associates, Rick was formerly CEO of ISDA, an attorney at Cravath and worked in sales and trading in the Bank of America and Paribas groups.

His work at Rutter Associates has involved (1) advice to more than a dozen Lehman counterparties with disputed derivatives close-out valuations, (2) consulting for banks on regulatory investigations, and (3) expert testimony in cases involving derivatives and structured credit disputes pending in New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taipei.

In particular, the session will focus on:

  • Documentation problems and errors;
  • Issues arising from the early termination of derivatives transactions;
  • Valuation issues in derivatives disputes; and,
  • Potential preventive measures in trade execution and collateral practice.

    Chief Executive Officer, Rutter Associates
