CFPB Looks at FCRA Data Furnisher and Dispute Priorities

CDIA Event

16 Oct 2014 02:00 p.m. - 03:15 p.m. EDT

Join Alice Hrdy, Deputy Assistant Director, CFPB Office of Supervision Policy, for a discussion of data furnisher duties (including reinvestigation practices) under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Ms. Hrdy will be joined by Morrison & Foerster Partner Andrew Smith, who will add his perspective drawn from his deep experience advising financial institutions on FCRA compliance matters, including examinations. This teleconference will be moderated by Stuart Pratt, President & CEO of the Consumer Data Industry Association.

This teleconference will explore what the CFPB has learned from its oversight of data furnishers including recent bulletins regarding expectations for review and consideration of consumer-submitted information as well as conducting a reasonable investigation rather than merely deleting the data in dispute.
