In December 2015, European policy makers reached an agreement on the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), replacing the now 20-year-old Data Protection Directive 95/46. The GDPR sets to expand the scope and reach of EU data protection law. While the terms of the agreement will not go into effect until 2018, we can be certain that it will have wide-ranging implications for companies operating in Europe, including delivering products or services to Europeans. Join Morrison & Foerster on March 15th as we discuss the changes to the current laws and a roadmap towards compliance.

Topics Will Include:

  • What significant amendments will the GDPR bring?
  • How to address new individual rights?
  • How do the new rules affect cloud computing?
  • What are the new challenges for data analytics?
  • How will international data transfer mechanisms be affected?
  • How can you prepare for the new rules?
