The global regulatory response to the financial crisis is rewriting the foundations of bank capital rules. As a result, IFLR is launching this Bank Capital Seminar to help you structure your next regulatory capital deal. Bail-in tools, Basel III’s leverage ratio and additional requirements for systematically important institutions are just some of the new factors banks must consider when rebuilding their balance sheets. Partners Anna Pinedo and Jeremy Jennings-Mares will speak on the panel titled “Tier 2: a new lease of life?”.

Topics of discussion will include:

  • Tier 2 under the CRD package, as well as expected deal flow and investor appetite in the instrument
  • The expectations for structural development of new-style Tier 2 instruments
  • Bail-in risks and the impact of Article 50 CRDIV (RB & Barclays examples)
  • Tier 2 as a host instrument for CoCos: analysis of specific design requirements from national regulators
