Electronic communication, storage and transfer devices have captured the world and the workplace along with it.  The use of these new technologies has raised a host of new legal issues both for society at large as well as in the employer-employee relationship.

These electronic devices — ranging from simple cellphones and camera phones to E-mail systems to personal data assistants (PDAs) and to iPods — each raise a number of unique issues. 

The meteoric expansion of the “new media” uses for these devices — from basic Internet and E-mail use to “texting” to “blogging,” and “vlogging” — has changed the way we communicate and store and transfer electronic data, both internally within our workplaces and externally with the business customers we serve.
