The Dodd-Frank Act created a new independent oversight agency, housed at the Federal Reserve, to assist U.S. consumers in getting clear, accurate information on mortgages, credit cards, and other financial products. The act also seeks to protect consumers from hidden fees, abusive terms, and deceptive practices. In this Webcast -- the fourth in our series on Dodd-Frank -- our panel of experts will discuss the impact of the act on consumer lending practices and intended benefits to consumers. Significant changes to the institutional operations of savings and loans and thrifts are critical issues to be covered.
