Lisa Phelan, Megan Gerking, and Eric Olson authored an article for Corporate Compliance Insights that discusses how businesses can avoid violating antitrust laws while collaborating to insure industry-wide response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Collaboration and cooperation among businesses – even competitors – in various forms may be necessary and beneficial for the greater good in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the authors wrote. “While businesses must remember that antitrust and competition laws continue to apply, antitrust laws should not prevent meaningful cooperation aimed at treating and addressing this crisis.”
