The Wall Street Journal

23 Sep 2016

Jörg Meißner, a corporate partner in the firm’s Berlin office, was quoted regarding the breakup plan presented by Metro AG — one of Europe’s largest retailers — to boost shareholder value in the article, “Metro AG Breakup Plan Faces Opposition”, published by The Wall Street Journal on September 23, 2016.

“Blocking the completion of annual financial statements may not be easy unless there are questions about the correctness of the financial statements”, explained Mr. Meißner. “Denying approval for obstruction purposes can be seen as breach of a shareholder’s fiduciary duty.”
