Chuck Comey, a partner in Morrison & Foerster’s Corporate Department, was quoted regarding the FCC's Telco and Media Deal Interpretations in the article, “FCC's Telco and Media Deal Interpretations to Differ Under Republicans and Democrats,” published by MergerMarket on October 6, 2016.

When it comes to further consolidating the wireline space, a Republican administration could allow greater leeway for the largest players to continue rolling up mid-sized competitors. “If [Donald] Trump were elected those deals would likely be easier to do,” said Mr. Comey, adding that a “continuation of the current more active review policy” under another Democratic administration would see increasing scrutiny brought to bear on the sector.
