Morrison & Foerster Represents Kirin in its Investment in Brooklyn Brewery Corporation

Morrison & Foerster is representing Kirin Holdings Company, Limited (Kirin), a leading Japanese company in the global food and beverage market, in connection with its equity investment for a 24.5% stake Brooklyn Brewing Corporation, a craft beer manufacturer in Brooklyn, New York, that serves customers through a network of distributors in the United States and internationally.

Most of the proceeds from the Kirin investment will be used by Brooklyn Brewery towards the development of a new brewery and beer garden in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. With the execution of the deal, Kirin and Brooklyn Brewery are simultaneously entering into a framework agreement that outlines the scope of their future collaboration in certain territories, including Japan.

The deal team was led by corporate/M+A partner Enrico Granata (NY), Thomas Chou (HK), Fuyuo Mitomi (TK) and James Robinson (TK).
