MoFo Advises SoftBank on $100bn “Vision Fund”

Morrison & Foerster is acting as counsel to SoftBank Group Corp in connection with the recently announced “SoftBank Vision Fund”. The Fund is contemplated to raise up to $100 billion, including $25 billion from SoftBank and (per a non-binding MOU entered into on October 12, 2016) up to $45 billion from the Public Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is expected that the Fund would invest in technology companies globally, and that SoftBank would enter into alliances with portfolio companies of the Fund.

The MoFo team is led by Tokyo office Managing Partner Ken Siegel, with support from Oliver Rochman in London, Noah Carr in Tokyo and Zee Ahmedani in Los Angeles.
