DOJ picks Odebrecht and Embraer monitors

Morrison & Foerster partner Charles Duross is featured in the Global Investigations Review article “DOJ picks Odebrecht and Embraer monitors” for his appointment as Odebrecht’s U.S. monitor. In December, Brazilian construction company Odebrecht and its affiliate Braskem agreed to pay US$3.5 billion to authorities in the U.S., Brazil, and Switzerland for the company’s participation in a major corruption scandal.

“Duross’s appointment may come as little surprise to members of DC’s FCPA bar. Since departing the DOJ, the MoFo partner has continued to be a mainstay of the anti-corruption community. Once nicknamed ‘Mr. FCPA’ by the legal trade press, Duross is a frequent speaker on the 1977 foreign bribery statute on panels and at conferences around the world,” the article stated.
