Morrison & Foerster partner Mark R.S. Foster was quoted in the Courthouse News Service article “High Court Teases Out Finer Points in Statutes of Limitation,” in reference to the Supreme Court argument on California Public Employees’ Retirement System v. ANZ Securities. At issue in the case is a provision to the Securities Act of 1993 which prevents investors from litigating securities disputes independently from a class action after three years.

“Knowing when the time has run on potential claims allows them to more accurately estimate their risk exposure and any potential contingent liabilities,” he said in reference to financial institutions.
