Chambers and Partners honored Morrison & Foerster as Law Firm of the Year for Flexible Working Environments and Innovative Programs for Mothers at the 2017 Chambers Women in Law Awards: USA, held in New York City on June 15.
In presenting the award, Chambers recognized MoFo’s longstanding commitment to gender equality and innovation with the following remarks: “Since 2006, Morrison & Foerster’s Women’s Strategy Committee has been innovating the workplace to promote flexibility and remote working. Beyond their gender-neutral parental leave and caregiver programs, each lawyer requesting reduced hours or remote working is evaluated on a one-to-one basis, allowing them to personalize their work-life balance to maximum benefit. Their results have been significant, with the partner class of 2017 boasting four female lawyers that have been working reduced hours for a number of years.”
2017 marks the sixth iteration of the Chambers Women in Law Awards, which celebrate the accomplishments of legal practitioners from law firms and corporate legal departments, as well as firms and companies that have achieved significant improvements in gender equality, the advancement of women, and inclusion within the legal profession.
