Equifax Hack Opens Door for Hill Action on Cybersecurity

With the potential for Congress to create sweeping cybersecurity legislation in light of the Equifax data breach, Nathan D. Taylor advises in the National Journal article “Equifax Hack Opens Door for Hill Action on Cybersecurity” that overlapping cybersecurity authorities could be difficult to navigate.

“On an issue like this, there’s six or seven committees that can claim jurisdiction,” he said. “So if you have to get through a number of different committees, negotiations with different committee staff, it doesn’t create a great recipe for success.”
