MoFo Advises Ascendent In Meituan-Dianping Investment

Morrison & Foerster LLP advised Ascendent Capital Partners as an investor in Meituan-Dianping’s $4 billion Series C financing led by investment holding company Tencent. Meituan-Dianping is China’s largest on-demand internet platform that matches consumers with a range of services including entertainment and restaurants. Sequoia, GIC, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Trustbridge Partners, Coatue, IDG, Tiger Global, and China-UAE Investment each also served as investors in Meituan-Dianping’s financing.

The MoFo team advising Ascendent Capital Partners was led by Hong Kong partner and co-head of the firm’s Asia Private Equity Practice Marcia Ellis, with key support provided by Hong Kong of counsel Ivy Tang and associate Catherine Liu.
