Speaking at the 2017 CIO Summit, Morrison & Foerster’s London managing partner Alistair Maughan provided guidance on how companies can avoid legal issues stemming from disruptive technology. “Pinning our hopes on new targeted legal regimes to deal with new technology revolutions is probably unrealistic,” he said. “I just don’t think it’s going to happen. The best that we can do is look to existing principles and try and apply them as best we can within the scale of what’s happening. The law needs to be flexible.
