In this Straits Times (Singapore) article, “Bitcoin ATM machines crash as price of cryptocurrency soars”, Morrison & Foerster Associate Nick Davies commented on the recent demand for bitcoin, as the price of a bitcoin surged past US$16,000, a 1,600 percent increment since the start of the year.

“The practical use of bitcoin is still quite limited", he said. This surge has "all the hallmarks of a 'get-rich quick' scheme."
