Old-Line Industry’s Tech Advance to Drive 2018 Deals

27 Dec 2017

Robert S. Townsend, co-chair of Morrison & Foerster’s global M&A practice, advised in the Mergermarket article “Old-Line Industry’s Tech Advance to Drive 2018 Deals” that software for automotive applications and security and cyber defense will be some of the main drivers of technology deals in 2018.

A concern, however, is the impact CFIUS could have on cross-border transactions as it “remains a difficult wicket to get through,” according to Mr. Townsend. Additionally, there are questions about the Trump administration’s anti-trust focus.
