Microsoft, U.S. Set for High Court Battle on Overseas Emails

The U.S. Supreme Court is looking to provide clarity for government and technology companies on whether data stored overseas can be turned over to law enforcement in United States v. Microsoft, according to David A. Newman in the Bloomberg Big Law Business article “Microsoft, U.S. Set for High Court Battle on Overseas Emails.”

Tech interest groups and cloud computing companies would view a pro-Microsoft ruling “as providing greater protection for the industry as compared to the government’s position,” he said.
