Joshua Ashley Klayman explained one of the requirements of Regulation D and how token sellers are reporting when purchases are made by accredited investors in the Coindesk article “These ICO Investors Are Getting Their Money Back - And It's Not Clear Why.”

"One of those requirements is that the token seller takes reasonable steps to verify the accredited investor status of purchasers that are US persons,” she said. "In my experience, many token sellers report engaging certain 'permitted third-party verifiers' to confirm that such purchasers are, in fact, accredited investors."
