Asian Legal Business (ALB) named Singapore partner Shirin Tang Woman Lawyer of the Year as part of its 2018 SE Asia Law Awards.
Known for her “tireless work ethic and top notch deal execution capabilities,” Shirin has worked on some of the most complex private equity and M&A transactions across Southeast Asia, China, and the United States. In the past two years, she has led seven transactions with deal values each in excess of $1 billion and with a combined deal value in excess of $27 billion.
“I am honored and deeply grateful to have been chosen as Woman Lawyer of the Year,” says Shirin. “I am thankful every day to work with clients and colleagues who are also friends, to be surrounded by a fantastic team, and to be a partner at a firm that values, empowers, and promotes women.”
In addition, Morrison & Foerster’s work advising on GLP Pte. Ltd. (formerly Global Logistic Properties Limited) on its $11.64 billion privatization of Global Logistics Properties took home the M&A Deal of the Year (Premium) award. The transaction was the largest private equity buyout of an Asian company and the largest privatization of a listed company in Asia.
Now in its 14th year, the ALB SE Asia Law Awards recognizes and celebrates the contributions of private practice law firms, individuals, and in-house counsel to the legal landscape of the region.
