Morrison & Foerster LLP is advising EdR (NYSE: EDR), one of the nation’s largest developers, owners, and managers of high-quality collegiate housing communities, in its US$4.6 billion all-cash sale to a newly formed perpetual life vehicle led by an affiliate of Greystar Real Estate Partners. Greystar is the largest operator of apartments in the U.S.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions including EdR stockholder approval, and is expected to close in the second half of 2018.

The MoFo team was led out of Washington, D.C. by Corporate partner Lauren Bellerjeau, Corporate partner and co-chair of the firm’s Corporate Finance and REIT practices David Slotkin, and Corporate partner and co-chair of the firm’s REIT practice Justin Salon, and included Corporate associates John Hensley and Sherri Deckelboim.
