Morrison & Foerster Named to BTI’s List of Innovation Champions

Morrison & Foerster has been named to BTI Consulting Group’s inaugural list of 2019 Innovation Champions. The definitive list ranks law firms that are reshaping the legal market when it comes to technology prowess and client service. The report is BTI’s first in-depth look into legal innovation from the client perspective.

BTI conducted 359 detailed interviews with general counsel and legal decision makers on four distinct elements driving legal innovation. MoFo was in the top percentage of firms based on four categories, including:

• BTI Movers & Shakers—firms making strategic and tactical moves others don’t
• BTI Innovation Builders—firms bringing change to the legal market through new technology, services, strategies, or structures
• BTI Client Experience Innovators—firms making strategic changes in client service to deliver a world-class client experience 
• BTI Law Firm Technology Leader —firms embracing and using technology in new and different ways to better help meet client’s needs

This deeper dive into legal innovation was prompted by the observation that, over the last four years, there has been a 10 percent increase in the number of firms adopting new technology and updating their change processes to accommodate client needs. While 74 percent of corporate clients reported seeing more innovation, only 52 percent of law firms are leading the charge.
