NPC Standing Committee Promulgates E-commerce Law

GC Agenda China

28 Sep 2018

In the September edition of GC Agenda China, Morrison & Foerster partner Paul McKenzie shared his opinions on the Electronic Commerce Law of the People's Republic of China, which was enacted by the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.

According to Mr. McKenzie: “Promulgation of the law comes at the end of a relatively lengthy legislative process that saw a first draft released for comment in 2016. The law provides regulators with additional tools to protect the rights and interests of consumers in China's immense and growing e-commerce sector."
