Jina Choi, the Head of the SEC’s San Francisco Office, is Leaving the Agency

Morrison & Foerster partner Jina Choi’s retirement from the SEC is discussed in the Tech Crunch article entitled, “Jina Choi, the Head of the SEC’s San Francisco Office, is Leaving the Agency.” The Securities and Exchange Commission announced on November 29th, 2018, that Jina Choi is retiring after 16 years with the agency.

Choi was appointed to lead the SEC’s Bay Area office in 2013 and has brought enforcements against numerous high–fliers, including the case against Theranos, the blood–testing company that was recently dissolved but was charged with massive civil fraud by the SEC in March 2018.
