According to Morrison & Foerster partner Chuan Sun in the 21st Century Business Herald article, “China’s high-tech M&A in U.S. has dropped to US$700 million so far this year,” opportunity remains for cross-border M&A despite uncertainties in trade relations between the U.S. and China. It mainly depends, however, on Chinese investors who are currently concerned about CFIUS scrutiny.

Mr. Sun added that it might take at least 12 to 18 months to see how the new U.S. foreign-investment policies will proceed before the current sluggish trend changes.
