Cylance’s Chief Security and Trust Officer Malcolm Harkins’ idea that the government should require companies to disclose all of the aspects that failed during a cybersecurity breach would go against the past history of the FTC according to Morrison & Foerster partner Julie O’Neill in the Axios newsletter, “Codebook.”

“The FTC has historically been averse to specifying security measures or products that a company should employ,” she said.
