Morrison & Foerster is representing SoftBank Vision Fund in connection with the Series D+ investment totaling US$225 million in Klook, a Hong Kong-based leading travel activities and services booking platform. This round, which comes eight months after Klook’s US$200 million Series D fundraising, was led by SoftBank Vision Fund, with participation from existing investors, including Sequoia China, Matrix Partners, TCV, and OurCrowd. The total investment represents the largest financing in the global travel activities and services industry.
The new funds will be used to scale the company’s operations into new geographies and continue to expand in its existing Asian markets, such as Japan, according to Klook.
Hong Kong partner and co-head of the firm's Asia Private Equity Practice Marcia Ellis and of counsel Catherine Liu are leading the MoFo team on this matter, with key support provided by associates Olivia Tang and Bowen Wang. Other key team members include Hong Kong tax partner Matthew Lau, technology partner Gordon Milner, as well as Palo Alto corporate associates Aria Kashefi and William Wynn Stateman.
