Morrison & Foerster Foundation Continues to Raise the Bar

24 May 2019

The Morrison & Foerster Foundation was recently honored as a platinum level participant in the Raising the Bar Campaign. The initiative, started in 2011 by the D.C. Access to Justice Commission, was designed to supplement the D.C. government’s public appropriation for legal services and ensure that D.C. residents receive equal access to legal help.

On May 15, 2019, the forty-three firms that made the Leadership Circle for the Raising the Bar campaign in 2018 were honored during a ceremony featuring remarks from D.C. Councilmember Charles Allen. Honorees are selected for donating a benchmark percentage of revenue to local legal service providers. Together, this year’s participants donated nearly $6 million to organizations serving low-income D.C. residents with urgent legal needs—the highest level of giving in the campaign’s history.

The Morrison & Foerster Foundation has been participating in the Raising the Bar campaign at the platinum level since its inception. According to MoFo D.C. litigation partner Alex Ward, “The Morrison & Foerster Foundation strongly supports the D.C. Access to Justice Commission’s efforts to ensure the delivery of legal services to the District of Columbia’s most vulnerable residents, and we are pleased to acknowledge our recognition as a member of the Commission’s Platinum Leadership Circle.”
