Hong Kong partner Marcia Ellis has been listed for Best in Private Equity, while Tokyo partner Yuka Teraguchi is listed as a Rising Star for Intellectual Property.
Having practiced in Asia for more than two decades, Marcia is one of the most experienced private equity M&A lawyers active in the Asian market. In the past 12 months alone, she has advised clients on deals with an aggregate total value that is well in excess of US$80 billion. Marcia regularly advises leading investors on M&A transactions, including SoftBank Vision Fund, Alibaba, GLP, Bain Capital Credit, BlackRock, Farallon Capital, Ascendent Capital Partners, RRJ Capital, Summer Capital, Celadon Partners, and Ark Pacific Capital.
As a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, Yuka has vast experience representing clients in U.S. federal courts, before the International Trade Commission, and in Japanese courts, and often manages global strategy in cases spanning multiple jurisdictions. Her cases have involved a wide range of technologies, including computer hardware and software, communication networks, automotive components, semiconductor devices, and medical devices.
