The American Lawyer has recognized San Francisco M&A partner Brandon Parris as a 2020 Dealmaker of the Year for his role in Sprint’s blockbuster $59 billion merger with T-Mobile and the company’s corresponding $5 billion divestiture of assets to DISH.
As lead of Morrison & Foerster’s transaction team on this deal, Brandon played a vital role in the deal that will shift the future landscape of the telecom industry. On February 11, 2020, Judge Victor M. Marrero of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York ruled in favor of T-Mobile and Sprint, allowing their planned merger to move forward by rejecting a states-led challenge of the deal. The companies are now taking final steps to complete their merger to create the New T-Mobile.
This award follows a year of recognitions, including being named a Law360 MVP of the Year for M&A, as well as a Top 100 Leading Lawyer by the Daily Journal. As part of the recognition, Brandon was interviewed by The American Lawyer, which can be found on its website.
