MoFo Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
MoFo Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
May marks the beginning of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. In our current remote work environment, MoFo will still celebrate and honor the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental to its future success.
Here are a few of the ways we will celebrate Asian Pacific American culture and its achievements this month –
Our Asian Affinity Groups have worked to present a virtual discussion by Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus on topics that are extremely timely and relevant in today’s environment. The presentation will highlight the history, the contributions, and the challenges of Asian and Pacific Americans for APAC Heritage Month. They will also discuss how the health emergency from COVID-19 has intensified the issues of poverty and racism for our communities and how, now more than ever, we need to come together to ensure that we can overcome the challenges this crisis has presented.
Be on the lookout for our social media campaign that highlights reflections from some of our lawyers on how the legal industry has shifted with respect to Asian Pacific American inclusion, how they feel key historical figures have influenced the Asian Pacific American experience, and advice they would give to other Asian Pacific Americans to pursue a career in law.
Learn more about some of our Asian Pacific American partners and associates by visiting our MoFo+ blog. We’ll hear from New York Litigation associate Eric Lin as a part of our Faces of MoFo series and San Francisco Litigation partner Jina Choi for our Spotlight on Diversity. Rounding out our features is our MoFo Women’s Spotlight on San Francisco Litigation partner Christine Wong. I encourage you to take a moment to read about these diverse attorneys’ experiences inside and outside of the legal profession.
