State Bar Task Force Recommends Expanding Eavesdropping Powers to Hate Crimes

Carrie H. Cohen, Morrison & Foerster partner and chair of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Task Force on Domestic Terrorism and Hate Crimes, led the task force in creating a new report that recommends expanding the list of offenses that allow for video surveillance and eavesdropping warrants to include hate crimes defined under § 485.05 of the state’s Penal Law.
