Morrison & Foerster Shortlisted for Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards North America
Morrison & Foerster has been shortlisted for Outstanding Firm and Pro Bono Program of the Year as part of the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America. These awards shine the spotlight on both firms and individuals who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion across the USA and Canada.
At Morrison & Foerster, we firmly believe that our differences make us stronger and more valuable in our work for our clients, in our advocacy for what is right, and in our support of the communities we serve both locally and globally. Formed in 2003, MoFo’s Diversity Strategy Committee (DSC) supports a variety of internal diversity, LGBTQ+, and women’s initiatives, programs, and groups designed to recruit, train, mentor, and retain diverse lawyers and staff. In 2019, we proactively built on our Diversity & Inclusion (D+I) efforts, and now, in 2020, we are being recognized for our accomplishments over the last year.
This year has also been significant in regards to the firm’s pro bono initiatives. Our lawyers have been on the front lines, dedicating their time to pro bono matters—from history-making class actions to individual cases and unique partnerships with innovative nonprofits and social enterprises—to protect the rights of underserved individuals and communities around the globe. MoFo lawyers and staff have also stepped up during the coronavirus pandemic by forming response task forces, such as our Coronavirus (COVID-19) Task Force, participating in free virtual legal clinics for small businesses, advising nonprofits on a number of COVID-19-related issues, developing our COVID-19 Resource Center, and so much more.
This year’s winners will be announced on September 24, 2020. To view the shortlist, please visit the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: North America website.
