Brandon Van Grack spoke to Law360 about the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) request for comments in advance of its proposed rulemaking regarding possible changes to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
The DOJ’s FARA Unit has brought several high-profile actions in recent years. As part of more aggressive enforcement of the law, the DOJ has deployed mechanisms including civil litigation and inspections, Brandon said, adding that the FARA changes under consideration could have “significant ramifications.”
