Charles Duross, head of the firm’s global anti-corruption practice and a partner in the Securities Litigation, Enforcement and White-Collar Defense Practice Group was quoted in regards to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) as a continuing priority for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). “FCPA enforcement is the new normal,” Duross said. Looking back, sustained enforcement started about a decade ago, he recalled. “Enforcement has ramped up and it hasn't gone away. The focus began in the Bush years and continued in the Obama administration.”
