Daily Journal Names Mac Cormac Among Top 25 Clean Tech Lawyers in CA

16 Mar 2011

The Daily Journal has named Susan Mac Cormac, co-chair of MoFo's Business Department and chair of the Cleantech Practice, among its first-ever list of the top 25 clean tech lawyers in California.

Ms. Mac Cormac, resident in the San Francisco office, is honored in recognition of her dedication to devising laws that will allow corporations to include 'good-works' activities as a core element of their business. Her proposed legislation – envisioning the creation of a new, for-profit business form called a 'flexible-purpose corporation' – was introduced in the Legislature in February 2011. Flexible-purpose corporations would be able to address issues such as sustainability or carbon recapture.

The Daily Journal also recognizes Ms. Mac Cormac's busy clean tech practice, which over the past year has seen her represent Konica Minolta Holdings Inc. in a $100+ million business partnership and investment deal to develop and distribute organic thin-film photovoltaics, serve as outside general counsel to Revolution Foods, which provides healthy food, education and operational support for California schools, and represent the non-profit Biomimicry Institute, which promotes the use of ideas from nature to solve technical problems.
