Department of Justice Sets Sights on Executives In Companies It Probes

James Koukios, former federal prosecutor and partner in the firm’s Securities Litigation, Enforcement & White-Collar Defense Practice Group, was quoted regarding his opinion of the DOJ’s Yates memo, which requires full-cooperation or no leniency will be granted. Mr. Koukios said that, while the Department of Justice is taking a carrot-and-stick approach to cooperation, the Yates memo is “kind of heavy on the stick.”
