MoFo Advises Axel Springer in Acquisition of N24 Media

In its first publicly announced deal, our Berlin M&A team is advising Axel Springer SE, one of Europe’s largest media companies, in its acquisition of N24 Media GmbH. The transaction, which was announced on Dec. 9, is subject to approval by the Cartel and Media Offices. The purchase price was not disclosed.

As part of the acquisition of the news station, N24 and the WELT Group plan to combine to form the leading multimedia news company for quality journalism in the German-speaking countries. The combination will create one of the largest multimedia editorial teams in Germany.

The N24 Group is Germany’s largest independent producer of information. Approximately 300 employees work for the N24 Group and subsidiaries N24 and MAZ&More.

The deal team includes partners Christoph Wagner and Hanno Timner, counsel Clemens Waitz and Kristina Ehle and associates Sebastian Schwalme, Harm-Randolf Döpkens, Karoline Boullay, Jens Hackl, Felix Helmstädter and Hilmar Hamm.
