New York Office Receives Highest Ecofriendly Certification

The U.S. Green Building Council recently awarded MoFo’s New York office with Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification. The certification, which is the highest level available for a green building, is based on five design categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.

New York lawyers and staff collaborated with construction manager Structure Tone and architect Gensler on the innovative design and construction of the new office space, carefully selecting materials, finishes, and furniture to meet the LEED goals of the project. The construction utilized low VOC materials, efficient light and water fixtures, and locally sourced materials to the greatest extent possible. Full-floor windows make maximum use of natural light, and indoor air quality and waste management plans have also been implemented.

New York is the third MoFo office to be LEED certified. The recent 220,000-square-foot renovation of our San Francisco office received LEED Gold certification, and our offices in Los Angeles are also certified as LEED Silver.
