NLJ Appellate Hot List Honors MoFo

17 Nov 2014

The National Law Journal (NLJ) has named Morrison & Foerster to its annual Appellate Hot List, its assessment of the top appellate practices in the United States. The Hot List recognizes the law firms with "outstanding achievements before the U.S. Supreme Court, federal circuit courts and state courts of last resort.”

The NLJ noted that Morrison & Foerster has “long enjoyed an impressive U.S. Supreme Court practice” and has built an equally strong federal courts of appeal practice with the help of Deanne Maynard, co-chair of the firm’s Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Group. The NLJ also mentioned that the firm brought on Joe Palmore, former Assistant to the Solicitor General at the United States Department of Justice and the Deputy General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, to co-chair the group this year.

The Group’s recent highlights include winning “key federal appellate cases on issues ranging from patent protection to antitrust class action law to Internet privacy,” including Ben Fox’s copyright win in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on behalf of several Internet service provider clients.
