Three MoFo lawyers have been named to the Daily Journal's list of California's top women lawyers: Rachel Krevans, Mika Reiner Mayer, and Miriam Vogel. Each has been featured multiple times; this is Rachel's eighth consecutive year on the list, Mika's third consecutive year on the list, and is the fourth time that Miriam has been honored.
Rachel was recognized for her work on a series of smartphone patent cases, resulting in multiple victories, as well as her general success in technology cases thanks to her ability to talk about products in layman's terms.
Mika was noted for her work on behalf of Alcon, a division of Novartis AG, in its agreement with Google [x] to collaborate on the creation of a smart lens, as well as her advice to Intersect ENT during the company's July 2014 IPO.
Miriam was featured for several recent environmental wins: an appellate victory on behalf of Newhall Land and Farming Co. regarding approval of a new mixed-use community north of Los Angeles, and a complete reversal of a trial court judgment against Vista Canyon Ranch, the developer of a 185-acre site in an unincorporated part of Los Angeles County.
The editors at the Daily Journal reviewed hundreds of nominations from law firms, public agencies, nonprofits, and universities to select this group of women. The full list of winners was published in a special supplement on May 13.
