Top Privacy Cases Of 2015: Midyear Report

Andrew Serwin, co-chair of the firm’s Global Privacy and Data Security Practice Group, was quoted regarding the Supreme Court's ruling in U.S. v. Elonis that online posts can’t be considered threatening if that wasn’t the author’s intent in the article, “Top Privacy Cases Of 2015: Midyear Report,” published in Law360 on June 30, 2015.

Serwin said that the decision shows that it can be hard to predict how courts will decide in emerging areas such as social media. “We’re going to continue to struggle where these lines get drawn with social media and how courts are going to react,” he said.
