Will New Privacy Rules Make Europe An Information Island?

18 Dec 2015

Miriam Wugmeister, co-chair of the firm’s Global Privacy and Data Security Practice Group, was quoted regarding the impact that the European Community’s proposed new rules for data privacy will have on European companies in the article, “Will New Privacy Rules Make Europe An Information Island?” published in Forbes on December 18, 2015. “The way the safe harbor story has been portrayed is somehow a problem for the 4,000 companies in the U.S. certified under the safe harbor, but the companies that will be really impacted by the ECJ decision are the European companies,” said Ms. Wugmeister.
